Back in the day…
Growing up in London, ON, Jamara always had a love for all things creative. Whether it was painting, singing, songwriting, playing guitar or piano, filming, creative writing, poetry, or photography she was always looking for that next creative outlet.
After attending the Advanced Filmmaking Program at Fanshawe College she applied that knowledge to co-founding Orange Hat Film Productions along with Darryl Ayles at the end of their graduating year.
Jamara co-wrote the web series Look What You Have Become along with the novella of the same title, and has produced on almost all Orange Hat Film Productions projects. She completed the feature film Vent as picture editor, co-directed T.A.S. alongside Darryl Ayles in Spring 2022, and has since been putting her focus on colour correction and grading.
Recent projects Jamara has completed as colourist include “Raising the Bar” (TV Pilot, 2024), “Leatherbound” (feature film, 2024), “One Night in Lethargia” (an anthology feature film, 2025), “Laney” (short film directed by Daniel McGuire, 2025), and “A Night with Nathan” (feature film, 2025) which was recently accepted to the Forest City Film Festival!
Since inception in 2014, OHFP has been a two person operation with Jamara primarily handling the duties of Production Manager, Set Designer, Key Makeup and Wardrobe. She has now ventured into pre-production consulting to support the emerging film industry in London, ON as well as working as a freelance colourist.
